Enticing discussions with a video exposé
The C40 x GCoM Joint Program organised a roundtable at the World Bank Spring Meeting in Washington D.C. in April of 2025. The aim was not a small one: engage in a conversation with some of the world’s largest monetary funds (including organisation the World Bank, the Interntional Monetary Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank, and several others) to unlock funding to help cities reach their climate goals, both in terms of resilience and adaptation.
But coming the room asking for $800 billion is a risky feat. You shouldn’t come empty handed. So to help colleagues who were going to be negotiating in that very room, I created a short but concrete video showing the root of the problem, why the money was needed, and how it was going to be used. This video was then used as the opening piece of the rountable and helped reached some very conclusive decisions.
The video was written, shot, cut and animated by myself, with the valuable participation of Luis H Sáenz and Asma Jhina as both presenters.
